You want to stay in the loop for upcoming horror movies? Wonder who’s working on what project? Curious what concepts are being knocked around? So obsessed with horror movies you want a calendar to help you be on top of new releases?

I bookmarked the upcominghorror movies site years ago and use it regularly. It hadn’t occurred to me that others might not have known about this site and didn’t know there was a place to go to get your fix. This has a lot of trailers, insider info, and a calendar. It includes horror going to DVD and the theater.

If you go to the home page and scroll down and look to the right, you’ll get the UHM (upcoming horror movies) release dates listing. It makes it convenient to see what’s up this month, the next, and the next…

I just checked it out and found out that in February a movie is coming out about one of my favorite subjects, the Bermuda Triangle called “Triangle.” Described as “When Jess hits a seagull on a drive to the local harbour, little does she know that it is a harrowing omen of things to come. She sets sail on a yacht with a group of friends and already things are not as they seem – she just can't put her finger on why. Her suspicions are heightened when the yacht hits a storm and the group is forced to board a passing ocean liner to get to safety – a ship Jess is convinced she's been on before. The ship appears deserted, the clock on board has stopped, but they are not alone… Someone is intent on hunting them down, one by one. And Jess unknowingly holds the key to end the terror.”

To DVD December 1st, a ghost story (my fav): “Deadline” is about “Alice (Brittany Murphy), an artist recovering from a psychological breakdown, retreats to a remote Victorian house to convalesce and focus on finishing her screenplay in time for a fast approaching deadline. When she begins hearing strange sounds and seeing apparitions, Alice searches for the source, only to find disturbing videotapes in the attic. Fascinated by her discovery, Alice digs deeper to uncover the mysterious story of the couple (Thora Birch and Marc Blucas) on the tapes, sending her on a twisting and terrifying pursuit to find out what is behind the endless mind games.”

If you’re a devotee of horror, this is your hangout. Enjoy!

  1. I didn't know about this website, thanks for the post.
I went back to read some of the comments on The Flying Dutchman and I wanted to tell you that my dad was in the Navy and in WWII too. He was on the island of Guadacanal. But no stories about the Dutchman.

  2. That's so cool! Yeah, mine was stationed in Hawaii and out to sea when Pearl Harbor was hit. He said one time they were coasting by New Guinea and were told to be quiet as they went by some islands. They said there were headhunters. Apparently, one of the men fell overboard more than likely (they were always drunk) and they had tales that he was taken by the headhunters. Some guys even wanted to go try to find him and rescue him. Amazing stories. :-)

  4. Yeah, I have that one on my list too. Today's my day off and I rented from Netflex "Haunting of Winchester House" I'll have to see that. A family moves into a famously haunted sprawling mansion and an evil spirit takes their daughter captive. I'll have to keep you guys updated. I'd like to start writing occasional reviews on horror movies based on ghosts..
